Hula skirts, rhythmic dancing, ukulele music, and beautiful Leis will rock the Saugatuck Venetian Festival with its theme – “Polynesian Island Life.” The festival is scheduled for July 26 – July 27, 2019, with events starting Friday evening through Saturday night.
It will be an exciting weekend based on the Polynesian triangle area of islands that include the Hawaiian Islands, New Zealand, and Easter Island.
The unique, family friendly activities, an 80’s Music Concert, Dinghy Poker Run, Lighted Boat Parade, and Fireworks over the water. Everyone is invited to participate or sit back and enjoy. Either way it Promises to be a fun weekend.
Starting Friday evening, the 80’s music band, Starfarm kicks off the festival with their very popular 80’s music concert. Back by popular demand, this year will be the sixth year the group has returned to headline Friday night.
Saturday fun is jump started with a rowdy dinghy poker run where boaters spray each other with squirt guns as they race to card stops along the Kalamazoo River to get the best poker hand.
Saturday night rules with a breathtaking Lighted Boat Parade where boats will be decorated to promote this year’s Festival theme “Polynesian Island Life”. The evening is capped off with Fireworks over the Kalamazoo River that can be easily seen by all.

Hosting this family-friendly weekend is the Cowhill Yacht Club – The Little Club with a Big Heart. It is a silly name for a band of locals who have one common goal… To help the less fortunate in the Saugatuck/Douglas area communities.
